The Journal of Marine Research publishes articles, either theoretical or descriptive, dealing with investigations pertaining to problems of the sea. Interdisciplinary (and disciplinary) research emphasizing fundamental processes, connections and mechanistic approaches in both the coastal and open ocean is particularly appropriate. Its pages are open to contributors from all countries, but publication is in English only and a foreign author should so prepare his paper. The Journal of Marine Research does not publish material that has been, or will be, published elsewhere.
